Indian Kitchen Utensils

Many traditional Indian kitchen utensils remain in use today as traditional Indian recipes generally remain the same. Some are variations of other well-known kitchen tools, while others are uniquely Indian.

Used in Indian kitchens, the chakla (r) is for rolling out the dough on when making roti or various other Indian breads; also called a paste board. The belna, (above) or rolling pin, is often used with the chakla when rolling out doughs
A milk barni or milk pot
Blending the daal in the pot using the daal ghotni or swizzle stick
Stoking the fire with a phooki, a long hollow pipe
