The capacity of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Air Corps has been boosted after Second Lieutenants Steffon Cameron and Teffurn James, have successfully completed a Chinese Air Force Basic Fighter Pilot and Officer Development Course. The International Children’s Heart Foundation (ICHF) has performed another 23 surgeries on infants and adults during its latest visit to Guyana. The ICHF, locally referred to as the Baby Heart Foundation (BHF), has to date performed 100 procedures during 11 trips over the past three years. Works on the four-lane road expansion along the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) are progressing well, according to Technical Services Manager attached to the Public Infrastructure Ministry, Nigel Erskine, who is overseeing the project.
