EZjet boss Sonny Ramdeo was on Wednesday arrested in Brooklyn, New York on a charge of embezzlement from his former employer. The Florida newspaper Sun Sentinel has reported federal prosecutors as saying that Ramdeo faces charges of embezzling US$20 million ($4B) from his former employer in a payroll tax fraud scheme. National musical arts festival launched

In an effort to develop the music industry in Guyana, the Culture, Youth and Sport Ministry launched its National Music Arts Festival on Monday, at the ministry’s boardroom, Main Street, Georgetown. This festival is one of three sponsored by the ministry, and is aimed at improving the quality of Guyanese music and sustaining the country’s musical heritage, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.
