The President’s Youth Award: Republic of Guyana (PYARG) held its 15th   award presentation at the National Cultural Centre (NCC) where 715 youths were awarded: 547 in the bronze category, 148 silver and 30 gold. Under a strategic partnership with the Health Ministry, a specialist team from the George Washington University Hospital is currently in Guyana on a seven-day medical outreach. The 21-member team, which consists of urologists, anaesthesiologists, general surgeons and nurses, arrived in Guyana last Saturday. The team includes urologist Joseph Benjamin, a Guyana-born doctor who left this country when he was a child. This is his first trip back to his homeland. Bacchus was elected at the seventh biennial general assembly of the organisation in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad on October 26, the association said in a release. Approximately 844 house lots were distributed to Guyanese for phase three of the Zeelugt Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo when the Housing Ministry staged its fifth ‘One Stop Shop’ exercise for the year on Friday.
