The vehicle of US Ambassador to Guyana, Sarah-Ann Lynch, was involved in an accident at Lamaha Street, Georgetown on Sunday morning, but the ambassador was not in the vehicle at the time. Guyana Times International was told that the ambassador’s driver and a security officer were the only occupants of the vehicle at time of the accident. There are no reports of serious injuries being sustained by anyone involved in that accident.

Twenty-three young people from across five communities will soon have their businesses up and running after completing an entrepreneurial training programme. The budding entrepreneurs will receive either G$310,000 (US$1,500) from the Small Business Bureau to kick start their businesses, according to the Department of Public Information (DPI). The Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) has recommended that with first oil approaching rapidly, the Government needs to step up its review of existing legislation dealing with the oil and gas sector.
