Opposition-nominated Guyana Election Commissioners, who arrived at a meeting on Tuesday hoping that the decision to hold Claims and Objections (C&O) for 42 days would be reviewed, were left sorely disappointed, as a decision was taken to stick with that timeline. On Saturday, residents in several coastal villages were underwater from the unprecedented high tides, which lasted until today. The United Kingdom Government, through its local High Commission in Guyana, on Friday announced that continued funding for the Linden to Mabura road, the Kurupukari Bridge and rehabilitation of the Kingston Seawall is yet to be decided. UK High Commissioner to Guyana, Greg Quinn clarified that no decision has been taken on continuing funding for the road.
