A woman of distinction, US-based Guyanese Holly Veal, a prosecutor, public defender and private defence attorney, recently announced her candidacy for Henry County District Attorney. (Henry County is a U.S. state of Georgia.)
Holly originally hails from Wismar, Linden. She emigrated from Guyana on Dec. 16, 1995 to St Albans, NY.
More than eleven years ago, she began her legal career as an assistant public defender. In that capacity she worked tirelessly to ensure that the rights of her clients were protected. Holly then transitioned to prosecution.
She worked as an assistant district attorney and was later promoted to senior assistant district attorney. Holly also served as lead assistant solicitor general. There she sought justice for victims of violent crimes, and prosecuted misdemeanour offenses in Henry County.
Holly has dedicated her life to the practice of criminal law. Consequently, in 2012, she founded The Veal Law Firm, P.C., McDonough, GA. It is a law firm specializing in criminal defence.
The defence attorney holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science she obtained from Georgia State University in 2010; a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law in 2004, and a Masters of Business Administration in 2010.
