A man who was nabbed at a local airport with 592 grams of cocaine, was on Wednesday jailed after he made an appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. Rudolph Muir, also called “Roach”, of Enterprise, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (EBD) admitted to Magistrate Fabayo Azore that he had swallowed 72 pellets of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. One man is now dead and his brother injured following a brawl inside the New Amsterdam penitentiary on Wednesday afternoon. Prison officials confirmed that 27-year-old Neeshan Jagmohan, of Lot 28 Belvedere Squatting Area, Corentyne, was killed after he and his brother, Ramnarine Jagmohan, were attacked by three fellow inmates. The trial of Julius Tejowah commenced on Wednesday morning before Justice Navindra Singh at the High Court in Georgetown.
